Former Deutsche Bank CEO Jürgen Fitschen has left the supervisory board of Ceconomy AG (Media Markt, Saturn): At last week’s virtual annual general meeting, shareholders elected long-time Telekom manager Thomas Dannenfeldt to the supervisory body. Subsequently, the supervisory board members elected the 54-year-old as their new chairman as planned. Dannenfeldt worked for 26 years in various positions within the Telekom Group, most recently for four years as Chief Financial Officer (until 2018). The business mathematician also sits on the supervisory board of Nokia Oyj in Finland.
Fitschen leaves behind diverse supervisory board
At Ceconomy, Thomas Dannenfeldt meets a squad of high-calibre controllers, including the likes of Karin Dohm (Hornbach), Sabine Eckhardt (Jones Lang Lasalle), Julia Goldin (Lego), Jo Harlow (formerly of Nokia and Microsoft), Claudia Plath (ECE) and Regine Stachelhaus (Multi supervisory board member). Jürgen Fitschen thus leaves behind a remarkably diverse supervisory board with a 50 percent quota of women and different areas of expertise. The 72-year-old sat on the supervisory boards of Ceconomy and Metro AG for 13 years. His remaining mandates include the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of the Vonovia housing group.
