Supervisory Board of the week: Werner Conrad (Conrad Electronics)

Werner Conrad

A thoroughbred entrepreneur ends his career in the operative business: Werner Conrad (59) takes over as Chairman of the Board of Directors on January 1. His successor as “Managing Director” of Conrad Electronics SE will be the current Chief Sales Officer Ralf Bühler. The company is “operationally well positioned” and has a “clear strategy”, commented Werner Conrad. “This is exactly the right time to hand over the baton.” However, the family entrepreneur is not the only new addition to the Board of Directors: Tim Busse, Managing Director of WERKBLiQ GmbH, is also moving into the board.

Last excursion into operations?

He and his future colleagues on the Board of Directors were looking forward to working together, said Conrad. Busse has more than 20 years of experience in setting up and operating digital platforms for business customers. The Board of Directors currently includes former XING CEO Thomas Vollmöller, Rainer Kirchdörfer, an expert in family businesses, and Lea-Sophie Cramer, founder of the online erotic shop Amorelie. Werner Conrad returned to the operational side of the business around two and a half years ago after the surprise departure of a managing director from the Board of Directors. Prior to this, he had strengthened the board’s digital expertise.
