After her voluntary departure from the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse in November, Hauke Stars should not be bored. Because the 52-year-old top manager takes over another supervisory board mandate – and this at the shaken payment service provider Wirecard of all places: at the Annual General Meeting at the beginning of July, shareholders are to elect Stars as successor Susana Quintana-Plaza. The venture capital specialist resigned at the beginning of April after less than two years. The new Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Thomas Eichelmann, is likely to hope that with the help of the experienced Stars, he will be able to drive forward the professionalization of the Group even faster.
“Sound knowledge of professional processes”
This is more urgent than ever after the turbulent last weeks, in order to regain confidence. “Her in-depth knowledge of professional processes and procedures in internationally operating and listed blue-chip groups as well as her excellent expertise in IT and technology issues will enrich our board,” said Eichelmann. Hauke Stars already sits on the Supervisory Boards of Fresenius and Kuehne + Nagel. In addition to her, two further new Supervisory Board members are expected to be elected at Wirecard’s Annual General Meeting: Eichelmann has announced to expand the Supervisory Board. Names are not yet known.
