The Hamburg-based laboratory service provider Eppendorf AG (around 3100 employees) has appointed Thomas Heydler to its six-member supervisory board. The CEO of the Munich-based software company Definiens succeeds former sales director Michael Schröder, who made his supervisory board mandate available for personal reasons. Thomas Heydler has “more than 30 years of entrepreneurial expertise” and “sound knowledge of the global software business in the pharmaceutical and life science industries,” said Eppendorf, explaining Heydler’s appointment.

The company was founded in 1945, has subsidiaries in 26 countries and still belongs to the founding families Netheler and Hinz. Philipp von Loeper, Managing Director of ACEG, has served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2016. At the beginning of 2017, he had already presented the founder of the US life science company Promega Corporation, William Linton, to the Supervisory Board of Eppendorf AG as a renowned newcomer.
